Community Officer

We live in a world where the idea of community policing has changed significantly in the last decade. The Kentville Police Service believes that Crime Prevention can be best accomplished through social development. We feel that the most effective way to prevent crime is to ensure healthier children, stronger families, better schools and more cohesive communities.

I work in partnership with the community and am responsible for a number of programs, primarily focused at our schools where early interaction, intervention and mentoring can have such a positive impact on our youth. My other community involvement focuses on seniors and the business community. In addition to coordinating special events such as Police Week, Safety Awareness week, and Bicycle Rodeos, I am actively involved in many community committees and organizations.

The following are a few of our community programs:

  • Bike Safety
  • Block Parents
  • Business Security (Fraud)
  • Child Abuse Prevention
  • Child Safety
  • Drug Abuse Awareness
  • Home Security
  • Bullying
  • Seniors’ Safety
  • Shoplifting
  • Street Safety
  • Women Be-Ware
  • Halloween Safety
  • McGruff the Crime Dog Safety Info
  • SADD
  • Stranger Danger
  • Winter Driving

If you want more information about our programs or want to be more involved in our community, please contact me.
